I loved the Pebble, but…, November 11, 2016

This review is from: Pebble Time Smartwatch – Black (Certified Refurbished) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
After just six months, the battery now only last about 20 hours. The reason I went with the Pebble over an Apple or Android based smartwatch is because I didn’t want to have to charge it all the time. About four months in it started lasting only three days (down from five), then went down hill fast. At this rate it will be worthless within the next month or so. I get that sometimes devices fail, but when I contacted Pebble, they only offered a coupon for a replacement. Why, so I can replace it in six months again?! If you don’t stand behind your product, why would I get another one? In contrast to my experience with Pebble customer service, last year I contacted Fitbit when the button on my original-style ChargeHR fell off. I called their customer service to see if I could purchase a replacement button (I assumed a new one could just pop in), but instead they replaced it because they felt it “should not have fallen off, even with rough use, much less general wear and tear.” My replacement unit is still going strong and I’ve since then bought a Fitbit bit for my wife as well. I feel confident that they’ll stand behind their product if something should go wrong. I can’t say the same for Pebble.

Best smartwatch. Better than what Apple has to offer., April 16, 2016

Typically, people think they want a high resolution screen, or a touch screen on a smart watch, and because the Pebble Time does not have those features they immediately discount it. Well, if you actually use a Pebble Time, you will understand why so many people prefer it over all other smart watches. Note: I have used the following smartwatches: Original Pebble, Apple Watch, Pebble Time.
– Pebble Time has an always on display, so you can glance at your watch and see the time. A function all watches should have. To compare with my Apple Watch, I had to shake my wrist just to have the black screen turn on. While it may not be high resolution, I prefer the display to be always on.– Pebble Time has an amazing battery life. It advertises about a week of battery life. I haven’t fully tested it, but I easily get 4 days before I feel to recharge. To compare it with my Apple Watch, it would barely last a day.– Tactile buttons are a major plus. When my alarm or notification goes off, I don’t need to glance at my watch, I quickly turn it off by pushing a button without even looking.
Con:– I use the watch with an Apple iPhone, and I am not able to reply to messages, which is something I could do on my Apple Watch.– Cannot pay for items with the watch (ie Android Pay, Apple Pay)

Super fun and useful!, April 10, 2016

I love my Pebble Time watch! I was missing important phone calls and notifications because women apparently aren’t allowed to have pockets in their pants, so my phone was always put away in my purse or in another room charging. With my smart watch, I know when I get phone calls and notifications. Other perks are that it’s water resistant, so I can’t ruin it washing dishes or giving the kids a bath. I can also send text messages by speaking to my watch like in a spy show or comic. Super fun and useful! It’s not the cutest watch for ladies but I’m OK with that for all the things it helps me do.
